I've been a bike rider, walker most of my life because I'm bored in a car unless I'm going on an adventure. Got tired of biking to and fro, looked at electric bikes and scooters. I put it in a shopping cart and took it into Walmart with me and was being eyeballed by customers. Lol. That's the only downside - it's a great piece of machinery but watch out for those wanting to take it from you. Get a GPS tracker. Can't afford to lose a beautiful piece of machinery like that. You would be excused if you mistook the fluid Mosquito for a regular kick scooter at a glance. And you would be equally excused dropping your jaw when it flies by you at 28 mph (45 kph)!

It is after all an ultra-portable, lightweight electric scooter that looks like it has no business being able to perform such max speed figures. It only weighs 29 lbs (13 kg).

Not only that, but it manages to be strong up 10% inclines and has a 22-mile (35 km) range if you can restrain your throttle finger and keep it steady at 15 mph (24 kph).

This is possible through a front-wheel drive 500W/700W peak power motor and a 48V 9.6Ah battery.

Two solid rubber tires mean you will never run the risk of flats and to make the ride a bit more tolerable the Mosquito manages to incorporate a dual spring suspension system and a roomy deck with plenty of space even for "bigfoot".

And that would be the Wolf Warrior "clan" with its current four family members, and where the "mother and father" of all scooters is the Wolf King GT Pro which we cover further below.

Don't go looking for this type of performance under "best budget electric scooter" headlines.

With dual 1000W/5000W peak power motors you can expect the thing to have some proper "get up and go". The acceleration is astonishing and zero to 25 mph (40 kph) takes just over 3 seconds.

The top speed is 45 mph (72 kph) and will be reached in about 8 seconds. Needless to say, it won't have any problems going up hills even if they are steep.

Thankfully, NAMI has made sure that all this speed can be halted effectively with fully hydraulic LOGAN 160 mm disc brakes, as well as an adjustable integrated electric brake. It has a big 72V 28Ah battery. This means a whopping 90-mile (145 km) range is possible.

A good thing then that the ride quality is one of the best such a vehicle can have partly due to the adjustable front & rear hydraulic coil-shock suspension that allows you to set up the rebound dampening to your liking as well as the choice of 11-inch air-filled tires.

The heat-treated welded tubular frame is also part of the reason why the whole scooter performs so well and stands out in build quality compared to many other electric scooters.

A large waterproof smart display is another standout feature. Easy to use and allows the rider to adjust various settings such as acceleration strength independently for each motor. It is portable although the handlebars don't fold and it weighs just under 100 lbs (45 kg) with a max weight of 330 lbs (150 kg).

"Growing up with a four wheeler and dirt bike gave me a bit of an adrenaline junky side. After moving into the city I missed that freedom but this scooter replaces that in spades! The Wolf GT Pro is designed to be a proper off-road alternative for scooter enthusiasts.

This is obvious when you see those motorcycle-grade hydraulic front shock absorbers and that double stem. Add to that self-repairing 11-inch off-road tires should you choose them, or go for optional road tires.

If you have never tried an e-scooter (or even if you have) but not with this much power, it will scare the bejesus out of you and you can hurt yourself quicker than you can shout the first profanity that comes to mind when you realize you are in trouble.

The acceleration is almost ridiculous and it will spin the front wheel even on tarmac if you are not careful. Zero to 15 mph (24 kph) is reached in under two seconds!! And the top speed is 50 mph (80 kph).

Dual continuous 1200W motors will do that. Thank goodness there is a multitude of various riding modes including a turbo button, (that you don't have to use) to calm things down.

You can customize your driving mode since the front and rear motor power, as well as start torque, can be adjusted individually, and it does have a thumb throttle.

160 mm rotors and fully hydraulic brakes mean it stops from 15 mph (24 kph) to a complete standstill in only 9 feet (3 m). But don't try this without practicing your braking technique!!

"This scooter is the most solidly built one I’ve used to date. Once you adjust the folding mechanism there is 0 wobble or stem flex. The scooter accelerates stupid fast, and you’ll get wheel spin. I am not personally a fan of the low handlebars, being 6’0”, but I can adjust that with a riser. Suspension is stiff but that might loosen up, but even that contributes to the solid feeling. I own a Nami which doesn’t even feel as well built as this. Headlights are super bright (one arrived no functioning fully but they’re sending a a replacement). Despite being the heaviest scooter out there it’s quite maneuverable (more than Nami), and sine wave controllers allow you to baby it especially on single motor. Cables can get in the way when turning but you can move them with the Velcro straps. The scooter took nearly two weeks to arrive but when it did, it was in one piece. I do wish the display remembered the settings every time you turn it on, and that it would load the screen faster. But the screen itself is very advanced and nice to have. These are very early impressions but so far I’m impressed."

And so we arrive at the King's door, or should we say launch pad. It seems some manufacturers of e-scooters have taken a leaf out of the sportscar industry and their "how to" manual. You have a top-of-the-line performer with impressive performance yet, you make another one, even faster and more powerful.

And so it is with the Wolf King. If everything you read above about the GT Pro was to your liking, except that you need it to be faster. Then keep reading. If not, well... keep scrolling.

The King has dual 2000W/7200W peak power motors and a 72V 35Ah battery just to make sure there is enough juice even for the darest of them all. And the Sinewave controller is now at 50A whereas on the GT Pro, it is 40A.

This means that at the time of writing, it is the fastest production scooter for sale.

The top speed is an astonishing 62 mph (100 kph). Surely, you don't need more?

Let's not explain the acceleration in detail. It can set your hair on fire as you can imagine. And the range is also upped to 90 miles (144 km). Of course, it will be a bit heavier as well but only by 5 lbs which makes it hit the scale at 120 lbs (54 kg).

For some, this will be the ultimate experience and we suspect they will possess riding skills and bravery that some of us lack.

A good thing then is that there is this option for those riders. And it is not even the most expensive one on the market.

The Inikom OXO is the bigger brother of the OX. It has the same phenomenal ride quality and awesome design but with more power and range as well as fully hydraulic disc brakes front and back.

Dual 1000W motors bring the top speed up to 40 mph (64 kph) and the bigger 60V 26Ah LG Li-ion battery is good for a realistic 36-mile (58 km) range.

At 74 lbs (33.5 kg) it is 13 lbs (5.8 kg) heavier than the OX but that is an offset that one is willing to live with easily. The adjustable front and rear suspension and 10 x 2.5-inch air-filled tires also mean that off-roading and other surfaces like gravel, trails, and bumps are taken care of easily.

Long distance, suited for other than tarmac and smooth surfaces, and the Inokim high-quality design and build philosophy, puts this one at the top three of any shortlist. Or so it should.

This is not the smallest or lightest of scooters. It was never meant to be. This is because the motors, batteries, and frame in this scooter, are big and strong enough to allow it to perform as it does. This is not a commuting scooter, although it is silky smooth on the roads.

Dual 1200W motors with a peak power output of 5400W are part of this beast's package. This is good for a whopping 50 mph (80 kph) top speed. Dear lord. Did I hear someone ask about range? Who cares? This monster is not about traveling far from point A to B. But if you have to, and you can control yourself, ride economically in single motor mode, then it will take you 70 miles (112 km).

A giant front hydraulic fork and suspension with a rear spring arm will allow jumping and landing hard. Big 11-inch tubeless knobby tires for maximum grip. Front and rear hydraulic brakes, eABS (electronic anti-lock brake system), a big rubber-covered deck for great grip and place to land on, sorry, stand on.

It is a big one and weighs in at 101 lbs (45 kg). It has to be, in order to be strong enough. And it is. It looks massive and gives the impression that it knows its business.
